What We Believe
Rooted in God's Word. Transformed by His Grace.

At Seas of Grace Church, our faith is centered on Jesus Christ, grounded in the truth of Scripture, and lived out through the transforming power of God's grace. We believe the Good News of Jesus is meant to be more than something we hear or read. It is the truth that changes our hearts, shapes our relationships, and guides our lives wherever God leads us.

Our desire is to know Jesus, grow in His Word, share His Gospel, and extend His grace to others.

The Bible Is God's Word

We believe the Bible is God's inspired Word and our authority for faith and life. Through Scripture, God reveals His character, His purposes, His plan of redemption, and His desire for us to know Him.

God Is Our Creator and Father

We believe in one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of all things, perfect in holiness, limitless in love, and worthy of our worship and obedience.

Jesus Christ Is Our Savior and Lord

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who came into the world, lived without sin, died on the cross for our sins, and rose bodily from the dead. Through His finished work, God offers forgiveness, reconciliation, and eternal life to all who believe.

Salvation Is God's Gift

We believe we are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not by our own works or efforts to earn His favor. Salvation is God's gift, made possible by the death and resurrection of Jesus. We receive this gift through faith, and our lives become a response of gratitude to Him.

The Holy Spirit Lives and Works in Us

We believe the Holy Spirit brings new life, lives within believers, helps us understand God's truth, strengthens us in our faith, and empowers us to live in ways that honor Jesus Christ.

The Church Is the Body of Christ

We believe the Church is made up of people who belong to Jesus Christ. The Church is called to worship God, grow together in faith, encourage one another, serve our neighbors, and proclaim the Gospel to the world. Church is more than a building; it is a people united in Christ and called to His mission.

We Are Called to Live Out Our Faith

We believe genuine faith changes how we live. Good works do not earn our salvation, but they are a natural fruit of a life being transformed by Jesus. We are called to love others, pursue justice and mercy, serve with humility, and share the hope we have in Christ.

Our foundation is Jesus Christ. Our authority is God's Word. Our calling is to share His grace with the world.

The Grace Message
Grace Changes Everything!

Understanding the Heart of the New Testament

At Seas of Grace Church, the message of God's grace is central to how we understand the New Testament and our relationship with Him.

Grace is more than a theological word. It is the good news that God has done for us through Jesus Christ what we could never accomplish for ourselves. We do not earn God's love, purchase His forgiveness, or achieve salvation by trying hard enough. We are saved because of who God is and what Jesus has done.

We don't serve God to earn His grace. We serve because we have received His grace.

This truth changes everything.

Grace Is the Foundation of Our Salvation

The apostle Paul explains it clearly:

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” — Ephesians 2:8–9 (KJV)

Salvation is not a reward for religious performance. It is God's gift, received through faith in Jesus Christ. Our confidence rests in His finished work, not in our ability to be good enough.

We come to God trusting Jesus, not presenting a record of accomplishments. Our standing with God is rooted in Christ.

Grace Frees Us From the Burden of Earning God's Favor

Many people live as though God's acceptance depends on how well they perform, how many rules they keep, or how successfully they avoid failure. The New Testament points us to a better foundation.

Through Jesus Christ, we are invited into a relationship with God based on His grace. We still take sin seriously, seek forgiveness, and pursue holiness, but we do not live in an endless attempt to earn what God has freely given.

We grow from acceptance, not for acceptance. We obey out of love, not out of fear that we must earn our place in God's family.

Grace Does Not Excuse Sin—It Teaches Us a New Way to Live

The grace message is not permission to live without concern for God or others. Paul asks in Romans 6:1–2 whether we should continue in sin so that grace may increase, and answers emphatically, “God forbid” (KJV).

Titus 2:11–12 teaches that God's grace brings salvation and trains us to reject ungodliness and live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives.

Grace does not make holiness unnecessary. Grace changes the heart from which holiness grows. We are not transformed by trying to earn God's love; we are transformed as we learn to live in light of the love He has already shown us in Christ.

We Understand the New Testament Through the Finished Work of Jesus

The New Testament reveals God's saving work through Jesus Christ and the new life made possible through Him. Jesus fulfilled God's redemptive purposes, established the New Covenant through His blood, and opened the way for us to draw near to God.

We seek to understand Scripture in its context, recognizing the difference between the Old and New Covenants while respecting the whole counsel of God's Word. The Old Testament remains valuable for teaching, wisdom, history, and understanding God's purposes. The New Testament proclaims the fulfillment of God's saving promises in Jesus and teaches us how to live as His people under the New Covenant.

Our identity is not built on religious performance or human tradition. It is built on Jesus Christ, His finished work, and the new life we receive through Him.

Grace Leads Us Into Purpose

God's grace does not leave us unchanged or without purpose. Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works that God has prepared for us.

We are saved by grace and called to live that grace out.

That is why our mission at Seas of Grace Church is expressed in three commitments:

GIVE THE GOSPEL. We share the good news that salvation is God's gift through Jesus Christ.

GO ON MISSION. We carry the love of Christ into the communities we encounter, supporting ministries and looking for opportunities to serve.

GATHER TOGETHER. We encourage one another to grow in faith, understand God's Word, and live in the freedom and responsibility that come with His grace.

A Church Family Growing in Grace

We recognize that believers may come from different church backgrounds and may be at different stages in understanding God's grace. We want to be a church family where Scripture is studied carefully, questions are welcomed, Christ remains central, and people are encouraged to grow in truth and love.

We do not claim perfection. We seek to keep learning, to extend to others the grace we ourselves have received, and to let the truth of the Gospel shape our lives.

Our desire is simple: to know Jesus more deeply, understand the riches of His grace, and make His love known wherever God leads us.

Faith in Jesus. Wisdom for life. Grace in action.

At Seas of Grace Church, we believe the grace of God is not merely the beginning of the Christian life. It shapes the whole journey.
